Chicago-Based Merit Management Set Sights on More than Gaming, but Development

(Chicago, IL) Merit Management Group is prepared and embraces the passing of the bill by the Illinois Senate to bring gaming and economic development to Chicagoans, Northwest Indiana and increase the tourism. Additionally, Merit formally announces its partnership with renowned entrepreneur, Mike Ilitch for future developments in hotel, casino and gaming in the Detroit area. Canfora and its team of professionals have a longstanding gaming and operations management experience and plan to propose construction for a state-of-the art hotel, casino and spa. For over thirty years, Canfora has successfully developed and managed the operations of hotel casinos in the United States and South America. Merit Management Group is thrilled and ready for the challenge to bring successful gaming to its Chicago home, but also hopefully to Philadelphia and now Detroit. Currently Merit and its parent company PHL Local Gaming are nearing the final stages of the bidding process for a similar state-of-the-art hotel and casino in South Philadelphia.

Merit Management Group is being slated for at least one of the projects in South Chicago and beyond because of their proven track record in on-time, within budget and commitment to job creation and company diversity. The generated revenue in Chicago alone is determined to support the cash flow struggles of the state entirely. While other casinos are proposed for Lake County and even Rockford and Danville, the Chicago one will provide much needed revenue and job creation at the state and private level with Merit in construction and administration. Governor Pat Quinn has rejected gambling bills for the past two years, citing issues with ethical standards, however, once Merit’s excellence is reviewed; including the casino successes in Bellingham Washington with Silver Reef and continuing in Philadelphia with its parent organization PHL Local Gaming; the concerns can be laid to rest.

The plans for South Chicago, Philadelphia and Detroit consists of a state-of-the art hotel, casino and spa designed to attract tourists and have the best options for local events; such as concerts, small to large conventions and meetings and have the best and the brightest in restaurant and bar scene. The next step after the bill is hopefully passed through congress and signed into regulation in Illinois for the bidding process to begin. Merit is one of the few privately-owned agencies with a solid track record. They are ready and willing to continue its effective gaming responsibilities and operations to its fullest potential with state regulators which is expected to happen. The plans for Detroit with the Ilitch’s are in process.
