Las Vegas – Jan. 28, 2010 – Nevada Cancer Institute (NVCI) is pleased to announced that Bill Lerner, of the Union Gaming Group, has joined the Institute as a member of the Board of Directors.
Lerner spent 14 years on Wall Street as a financial analyst in equity research. In 2009 he formed a partnership, Union Gaming Group, a Las Vegas-based global gaming research and advisory firm where he is a principal and analyst at this boutique investment bank.
Prior to Union Gaming, Lerner served as a managing director and senior gaming & lodging analyst at Deutsche Bank Securities where he moved the domestic gaming equity practice to Las Vegas, operating the first-ever Wall Street gaming research team in the region. This followed ten years at Prudential Securities and Deutsche Morgan Grenfell.
“Bill brings a strong understanding of the financial markets, the economy, and their impacts on Nevada to Nevada Cancer Institute,” said Stephen J. Cloobeck, chairman of NVCI’s Board of Directors. “His experience will aid our Board and the Institute in continuing to grow and meet the cancer care needs of Nevadans.”
Lerner has been recognized by Institutional Investor as part of its "All American Research Team" for multiple years, and Wall Street Journal's "Best of the Street." He has an M.B.A. from Boston University and received his B.A. degree from Syracuse University. He currently lives in Las Vegas with his wife and three children.
