UNR Announces Gaming Management Program for 2011

Nov. 2, 2010 - The Gaming Management Program at the University of Nevada, Reno has released their 2011 Gaming Management Series week-long course schedule and is introducing several new short courses and seminars, welcoming casino professionals worldwide.


Intensive week-long courses, held at the University of Nevada, Reno campus, allow attendees to acquire new skills unique to the gaming industry in a short period of time. More than 1,600 participants from a broad range of operations, including regulatory agencies, commercial casinos and tribal casinos, have attended the Gaming Management Series at the University of Nevada, Reno. Through these courses, casino professionals will gain a more specific understanding of operational activities required for planning, organizing and managing a casino, and key staff members new to the casino industry or who have limited experience will benefit by gaining industry specific knowledge. 


Week-long courses cover a range of topics from promotional strategies to surveillance operations. Gaming professionals can experience quality gaming education relevant to today’s gaming environment. The 2011 schedule is as follows:


Feb. 28 - March 4:    Promotional Strategies for the Gaming Industry
March 21 - 25:         Financial Accounting and Analysis
May 9 - 13:              Management of Table Games Operations
June 20 - 24:           Management of Slot Operations
July 18 - 22:            Business Analytics for the Gaming Industry
Aug. 15 - 19:          Performance-Based Surveillance Operations
Nov. 7 - 11:            Advanced Management of Slot Operations

The Gaming Management Program will also be hosting several short courses and seminars in 2011 throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and Latin America. Locations and dates are to be determined.  Courses are designed to enhance management and operational skills specific to the gaming industry by providing leading-edge training that will help casino professionals implement and update operational strategies. Course topics will include Construction Auditing, Slot Machine Performance and Analysis, Table Games Math, Games Protection, Gaming Security and Investigations and much more.
