Joe Barrett Brings 20+ Years of Gaming Experience to Pittsburgh’s Casino

PITTSBURGH—August 3, 2010—Rivers Casino welcomes Joe Barrett as Vice President of Operations. In this role, he will oversee the casino’s property maintenance, utilities, valet, gift shop and wardrobe departments.

Prior to joining the Rivers Casino executive team, Barrett served as director of gaming for Rush Street Gaming, Rivers’ corporate parent company.  Barrett has extensive experience in the gaming industry and has held key leadership positions at Mirage Resorts, MGM and Harrah’s before joining Rush Street Gaming.

While with Rush Street Gaming, Barrett played a pivotal role in the Rivers Casino’s recent launch of table games.  Barrett developed and helped implement the dealer school curriculum at the casino, which successfully graduated more than 300+ new dealers in June.  Rivers Casino’s table games launched to an eager crowd on July 8.

“Joe was instrumental in our efforts to introduce table games to Pittsburgh,” said Todd Moyer, general manager of Rivers Casino.  “His leadership and diverse gaming expertise make him a great addition to our team.”

On top of his work in the gaming industry, Barrett, from the Las Vegas area, is very active in his community, and has served on the local economic development boards as well as the Indiana and Kentucky Councils on Problem Gambling.  For those councils he has also served as the Responsible Gaming Education Week committee chair.  Barrett is also a little league coach.

Barrett earned a business administration degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.  He is married with three children.
