The Bally BOSS™ and MICROS point-of-sale interface allows casino players to order drinks from the slot machine, thus increasing guest service while reducing labor costs.

Columbia, MD – June 21, 2011—MICROS Systems, Inc., a leading provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality and retail industries, is pleased to announce its seamless integration with the Bally BOSS™(Beverage Ordering Service System) by Bally Technologies – a solution that permits slot players to order drinks electronically using a touch-screen user interface directly on the machine they are playing. The order is then sent to the proper MICROS-equipped service bar for preparation and delivery.

The MICROS and Bally BOSS™ interface increases the efficiency of the drink ordering lifecycle, providing benefits to both the players as well as the casino. The slot machine indicates the status of the order and alerts the player when the drink is on its way through the in-game iVIEW™ or iVIEW DM™ player-user-interface – without interrupting game play. The casino benefits by getting important business intelligence productivity reporting that shows how quickly drinks are being made and delivered to players, while the players do not have to stop playing and leave their machine or wait for a cocktail server to come around.

The solution can also be used as a great way to reward higher-rated players, offering this service exclusively to top-tier customers as a benefit tier level membership. Functionality of the Bally BOSS™ is extended to the Bally mobile app, allowing guests to preorder a drink via the app on their smart phone and then have the order automatically placed once a player card is inserted into the slot machine.

“Casinos gain a strong advantage with the Bally BOSS™ and MICROS interface, as they are now able to offer gambling-ready customers a beverage without waiting for cocktail service in a crowded casino,” stated Jeba Kingsley, Senior Director of Technical and Professional Services, Bally Technologies, Inc. “This new integrated solution is sure to enhance the player experience and increase casino revenues.”

“At the enterprise management level, reporting features provided by MICROS and Bally BOSS™ allow the casino to improve the quality of its customer service, stock its bar more appropriately, and better target customers for drink specials and marketing campaigns,” said Jonathan Seigle, Vice President of Casino and Resorts Division, MICROS Systems, Inc. “We are pleased to offer this solution to our casino customers as a way to better their business strategies.”
