BALA CYNWYD, Pa., Feb. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- LaserLock Technologies Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: LLTI) today announced that it had signed a worldwide agreement with playing card manufacturer COPAG AG. of San Paulo, Brazil to incorporate its anti-fraud technologies into plastic and paper playing cards. COPAG distributes its cards through TCS John Huxley, one of the world's largest distributors of playing cards to casinos.
The announcement was made by Norman A. Gardner, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of LaserLock, and Ricardo Filho, President of COPAG. "We recently introduced the new playing cards with TCS Huxley in London at the International Casino Exhibition and are very optimistic of their potential in the casino market," said Mr. Filho.
"The agreement with COPAG is the final piece of our strategic plan to provide total security against casino fraud," says Gardner. "Previously, we announced that our security technology was being used to protect gaming chips, dice and slot tickets. With the addition of playing cards, we now protect all of the elements of potential fraud in casinos."
"The agreement provides for a royalty payment of $0.05 per deck of cards. We anticipate that sales will begin in the second quarter of 2004 and contribute to our revenues this year," said Gardner.
The Company also announced a realignment of its relationship with GMR Marketing, Inc., the company's exclusive advertising partner, selling advertising on slot tickets.
"GMR has agreed to assign its existing advertising sales contract with Ambient Planet of New York and London directly to LaserLock. This will enable us to deal directly with the group who is actually selling the advertising to the end user," Gardner concluded.
