05/27/2003 - Mandalay Signs Ticket-In Ticket-Out Agreement With IGT

RENO, Nev., May 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Mandalay Resort Group (NYSE:MBG) has reached an agreement with IGT, a subsidiary of International Game Technology (NYSE:IGT) , to purchase between two and three thousand new EZ Play(TM) gaming machines with ticket printers to facilitate the expansion of Ticket-In Ticket-Out functionality at its casinos.

Mandalay will also retrofit several thousand existing machines to add ticket printers as part of the expansion of TITO at its casinos. The Luxor and Mandalay Bay will be the first casinos targeted to expand the number of machines with ticket printers. The new machine purchases and retrofit program will be completed over a two-year period.

"Ticket-In Ticket-Out is a perfect complement to the other forms of cashless gaming that Mandalay Resort Group is implementing. We have seen the positive customer response and operational efficiencies that are associated with cashless and plan to expand the functionality to meet the demand," said Gregg Solomon, Sr. VP of Operations for Mandalay Resort Group.

IGT's EZ Play(TM) machines include standard reel spinning slots, video slots, poker machines and multi game machines that accept coins or currency, offer multi denomination wagering functionality and are equipped with ticket printers which dispense vouchers to players when they cash out.

At the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, the new machines will operate in conjunction with the IGT EZ Pay(TM) One-Wire Ticketing System, which connects to the existing slot accounting system at the casino. Players can insert the dispensed tickets into other compatible machines, hold them for future play or convert them to cash via various options without the hassle of handling coins or waiting for hopper fills.
