04/02/2003 - Ameristar Casinos, Inc. Names Falvey Vice President of Human Resources

LAS VEGAS, April 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ameristar Casinos, Inc. (Nasdaq: ASCA - News) today announced that Barbara Falvey has been appointed to Vice President of Human Resources. In this role, she will lead the Human Resources function -- including training and development, compensation, benefits, recruiting and team member relations -- to continue to cultivate a positive team member environment at Ameristar Corporate and each of the company's six properties located in Nevada, Missouri, Iowa and Mississippi.

During her 18-year career in human resources management, Falvey has worked exclusively in the gaming industry. She has led major cultural change initiatives, as well as training and development efforts that resulted in significant improvement in guest service measures, succession planning and leadership development programs, and employee initiatives. Most recently, Falvey was Senior Vice President of Human Resources at the Aladdin. Prior to that, she held Human Resource leadership positions at Caesars World, Desert Inn and Caesars Tahoe, where she began her career.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of California, Los Angeles and has completed the Duke University Executive Education Program. Falvey will finish her Masters of Science degree in Organization Development at Pepperdine University this May. She serves as Executive Director of the Southern Nevada Organization Development Network.
