SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- Saratoga Gaming and Raceway is happy to announce the hosting of WGNA's Countryfest 2004 on Saturday, July 10th. This is the ninth year Countryfest has been celebrated on the infield at Saratoga Gaming and Raceway. The entertainers for this year's event include: Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Craig Morgan, Terri Clark, and Sherrie Austin. The full day event will begin with a special rendition of the National Anthem performed by American Idol star, Joshua Gracin.


"Countryfest has always been a fun family event here and we're looking forward to its return this year," said Skip Carlson, VP of Racing at Saratoga Gaming and Raceway. "This year we will offer even more entertainment to the attendees with the operation of the video gaming parlor," he added. A special promotion running only for Countryfest will be a $50 cash giveaway to two lucky players every hour between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. inside the gaming facility. Players must be playing with their Player Extras Club card at the time of the drawing to be eligible to win. Membership into the club is free and an additional sign up location will be set up on the track infield for the convenience of the concert goers.


"WGNA is excited to bring the Capital Region the biggest one day country music event in the entire Northeast," said Dick Stark, "Saratoga Gaming and Raceway is a terrific venue for Countryfest and we're pleased to be entertaining there for our ninth straight year." Opening the stage for the day at 11 a.m. is local country music band Bluecreek. Parking is free and the lots will open to the public at 5:30 a.m. The gates into the track will open at 9 a.m. Tickets for adults cost $27 prior to the event and $32 at the gate, children under 10 are free. Seating is festival style with a first come, first served basis.


The first gaming facility to open in New York State, Saratoga Gaming and Raceway boasts over 1,300 state-of-the-art video gaming machines, two restaurants, three full-service bars, a food court, a gift shop, and a variety of guest services including valet parking and coat check. Patrons also can participate in our player rewards program, Player Extras Club while visiting the property. The 55,000 square foot gaming floor cost $15 million to construct and employs an additional 300 local residents.


Saratoga Gaming and Raceway is located on Crescent Avenue in Saratoga Springs, NY. Operating hours for the gaming facility are 10 a.m. to 2 a.m., seven days a week. All patrons must be at least 18 years of age to play the Video Gaming Machines or wager on the harness races. Simulcast races can be viewed Tuesday through Sunday. Live Harness races are held Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday evenings.
