With over 30 years of financial and operational experience, Lowder's past work experience includes general manager and executive operations positions at casinos across the nation. With nearly 20 years of marketing and advertising experience, Maylette Garces has recently been appointed executive director of casino marketing at Barona Resort & Casino.  Garces has worked in Barona’s marketing department for 12 years and most recently served as the executive director of marketing services, which operates as Barona’s in-house advertising agency.   In her new role, Garces will direct strategic planning for casino guest service initiatives and marketing campaigns including special events and promotions.

Home Town Farms, a local company introducing commercial vertical organic urban farming to San Diego, has received a letter of intent from Barona Resort & Casino to supply them with locally grown produce. Barona is interested in buying the freshest, most nutrient-rich, locally grown organic produce.  The award-winning casino resort has been recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council, San Diego Earthworks and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, among others, for its work on greening the organization.
