One of my biggest hang-ups working with the technologically agnostic is when someone reaches out with a question that can be answered by performing self-prompted research on the Internet. Sometimes questions turn into fire drills when they don’t need to be. Breathe, relax and research.

When rating table game players, it is common to include an indication of the player’s skill level. Because of their mechanical nature, one does not normally think of a slot player to include a skill level. Casino management systems have no provision for entering a skill level for a slot session. However, some slot players are better than others defined by the amount of their actual win.

For those operating in the international business arena, you may have been closely following recent "off-hand" comments from IRS personnel that suggested those holding an equity interest in an offshore entity, including a partnership or corporation, must disclose that interest in an FBAR. The consequence for failing to file can be draconian – massive criminal and civil penalties can be imposed.

There has been a steady movement afoot in the Golden State since 2006 to authorize intrastate i-gaming.  The i-gaming proposals have yet to cross the threshold to be a serious legislative initiative.  The i-gaming lobbying in California has not even been able to crack the legislative door by having legislation actually introduced.

When a young minister asked an old time preacher to explain the effectiveness of his sermons, the preacher replied: “Son, furst I tells ‘em what I’m gonna tell ‘em, then I tells ‘em and then I tells ‘em what I told ‘em.” Repetition is certainly one way to get your message across. But if the message itself lacks clarity, repeating it will not improve the communication.
