Cummins-Allison — Money Machine™

Cummins-Allison Corp. has announced enhancements to its premier self-service coin-redemption kiosk, the Money Machine™. The most visible of the enhancements is the development of a through-the-wall model, which reduces the machine’s footprint. The new configuration allows complete access to all functions from the rear, where it can be serviced out of the view of patrons. An additional touchscreen display monitor and a separate report printer mount on the wall above the rear access panel. These give the attendant the same controls at the rear that are available from the front. In addition to the cosmetic improvement, some important functional changes have also been made. For locations that handle a lot of commercial traffic, the Money Machine is now available with quad quarter, dual penny, dual nickel, dual dime, and single half-dollar and dollar coin bags. Bag reconfiguration kits also have been developed that enable a quad-quarter machine to be converted to a quad-penny machine, for example. Those options allow the machine to operate much longer between required bag changes. For more information, visit www.cummins-allison.com.

Card Scanning Solutions — Snapshell FDA Camera Scanner

Card Scanning Solutions announced the development of the Snapshell FDA Camera Scanner. The Snapshell FDA Camera Scanner combines Card Scanning Solutions’ scanning and OCR technology with Digimarc’s IDMarc digital watermark reading technology to authenticate IDs using embedded tamperproof digital watermarks. The Snapshell FDA utilizes a 3-megapixel camera built into its base to capture high-quality digital images of ID cards (up to 600 dpi), populating the card’s text into appropriate fields within seconds while simultaneously authenticating the watermark. The easy-to-use scanner uses a USB 2.0 connection, features no moving parts and requires no calibration. Its innovative geometric design features a small footprint that makes it a convenient desktop tool, while its easy integration into kiosks provides an efficient means of automating information collection and card authentication. The scanner can come bundled with Card Scanning Solutions’ IdScan or Scanshell.net modular software, or can be used with an SDK for smooth integration into third-party software.
